In writing, it is separated from the rest of the text using brackets, commas or dashes. 2. (formal or NAmE) (BrE bracket, ˈround bracket)usually plural either of a pair of marks, () placed around extra information in a piece of writing or part of a problem in mathematics •Irregular forms are given in parentheses.
