the last island and town of the ↑Florida Keys. It is the most southern US town and is closer to Havana, Cuba, than to ↑Miami. Ernest Hemingway and John James Audubon lived there, and President Truman had a ‘summer White House’ on Key West for holidays. People who live there are called ‘conchs’ after the local ↑shellfish. Many artists live there.
