		  fête   
  fête [fte] BrE NAmE  noun  (BrE) (in Britain) an outdoor event that takes place in the summer. Fêtes usually consist of sports, children’s games and competitions, with people selling things that they have made, such as jam and cakes. They are often used to raise money for a local charity, church or school. In small towns they are important social events. Similar events in the US are usually called  bazaars. Church and Christmas bazaars are traditional.
