the Tynwald [the Tynwald] BrE NAmE
the parliament of the ↑Isle of Man, ↑based in the island’s capital, ↑Douglas. It is one of the oldest parliaments in the world, originally formed in the 10th century. In 1881 it became the first parliament to allow women to vote.
