the fifth largest city in the US and the largest in ↑Pennsylvania. It is a major port on the Delaware River and was established by William Penn. Philadelphia is one of America’s most historic cities. It is the place where the ↑Declaration of Independence was signed and the American Constitution was written. ↑Independence Hall and the ↑Liberty Bell are also there.

the first major US film (1993) about the disease ↑AIDS. Tom Hanks won an ↑Oscar as Best Actor, and Bruce Springsteen received one for his song Streets of Philadelphia. In the film Hanks plays a ↑homosexual with ↑AIDS who is dismissed from work and begins a legal case against his employer. The film created a lot of debate in America about equal rights for people with ↑AIDS.
