Official Secrets Act
the Ofˌficial ˈSecrets Act 7 [Official Secrets Act] BrE NAmE noun (in Britain) a law that prevents people giving information if the government wants it to remain secret Culture: People who work for many government departments must ‘sign the Official Secrets Act’, i.e. sign a document saying that they will not discuss their work with anybody who has not also signed the Act. People who break this rule may be sent to prison.
