Nagasaki
Nagasaki [Nagasaki] BrE NAmE
a city and port in south-west Japan. It was, after Hiroshima, the second city to be destroyed by an atom bomb at the end of ↑World War II. The bomb was dropped from a US plane on 9 August 1945, killing about 75 000 people immediately and another 75 000 who died later.
