Little Rock
Little Rock [Little Rock] BrE NAmE
the capital and largest city of the US state of ↑Arkansas. It is an industrial centre on the Arkansas River. It became known around the world in 1957 when President Eisenhower sent US Army forces there to protect ↑African Americans who wanted to attend city schools with white people. This caused a lot of violence. Bill Clinton later lived in Little Rock as the ↑governor of Arkansas (1978–80 and 1982–90) before he became President.
