Kiwanis [Kiwanis] BrE NAmE (alsoKiwanis International)
a social and charitable organization that works to help children. It was started in ↑Detroit in 1915 and there are now Kiwanis clubs in many countries. The name comes from a ↑Native American language and means ‘we trade’ or ‘we share our talents’.
