the Countryside Agency
the Countryside Agency [the Countryside Agency] BrE NAmE
the British government organization responsible for preserving the countryside in England. It encourages local authorities to provide parks, and sets up and runs ↑national parks and ↑country parks. Scotland and Wales have their own organizations, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Countryside Commission for Wales.
