Queen's Speech
the ˌQueen's ˈSpeech 7 [Queen's Speech] BrE NAmE noun singular in the UK, a statement read by the Queen at the start of a new Parliament, which contains details of the government's plans Culture: The speech is written for the Queen by members of the government. It is an important occasion and is broadcast on television and radio. When a king is ruling it becomes the King’s Speech.
