Queen's Bench
ˌQueen's ˈBench 7 [Queen's Bench] BrE NAmE (also ˌQueen's ˈBench Division) noun singular part of the UK High Court Culture: When a king is ruling the Queen’s Bench (Division) is called the King’s Bench (Division). Its head was formerly the king or queen, but today it is the ↑Lord Chief Justice. It deals mainly with civil cases, e.g. ones in which money is claimed because of loss or damage, but it may also deal with appeals in criminal cases.
